The CUF models may be adopted for the study the dynamics of rotating bodies. Both rotary-wing and spinning structures can be considered. The equations of motion include all contributions of the rotational speed, namely the gyroscopic, the pre-stress and the spin softening terms. According to the linearized approach, the pre-stiffening matrix is computed through a preliminary static analysis. The accuracy of the higher-order theories enables the 3D stress state due to the centrifugal and thermal forces to be adequately described. The equations of motions can be derived with respect to the co-rotating reference frame and the inertial reference frame.
