Dario Magliacano was born in Naples (Italy) in 1991. He studied at the University of Naples "Federico II", and in 2013 he obtained a B.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, presenting a thesis entitled "Innovative methodologies for predictive analysis of the internal noise in rail vehicles". Then, in 2016, downstream of 4 months of internship at the Italian Aerospace Research Centre, he achieved a M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering, discussing the thesis "Active control of noise and vibrations in automotive". In 2016 he worked as Customer Care in Atitech S.p.A., one of the most important European aeronautic MRO companies.
From 2017 to 2019, Dario Magliacano was involved in a European Double Doctorate on the Vibroacoustics of Periodic Media (ViPer H2020 EU project) and he worked on periodic inclusions in porous materials at the University of Franche-Comté (Besançon, France) and at the University of Naples "Federico II". In this context, he also spent a research period at University of Sherbrooke (Québec, Canada). He was awarded of a Double PhD Degree in February 2020.
In 2020, Dario Magliacano worked as Technical Developer Manager in Phononic Vibes S.R.L., a spin-off company based in Milan (Italy); there, his main occupation was R&D Officer in metamaterials for vibroacoustic applications. During the same year, he earned a post-doc research grant with the University of Naples "Federico II", in the context of DEVISU project (DEvelopment and applications of a VIrtual hybrid platform for multiscale analysis of advanced StructUres of aircraft). In June 2021, together with some colleagues and professors, he founded WaveSet, a start-up and academic spin-off. In 2023, he moved to Turin to work as Fixed-Term Researcher in Polytechnic of Turin.
